Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician in the Steel Industry
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician with career ambitions to join our team. If you have a passion for machinery, a strong mechanical aptitude, steady hands, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have ambitions to take on management in the future, we’d love to hear from you!
We welcome applicants from various backgrounds such as automotive mechanics, marine engineering, welding, mechanical engineering or other related professional fields.
Employment Type: Permanent contract in Denmark.
About the Role
As Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a range of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in machinery using tools, equipment and drawings.
- Repair and replace defective mechanical components such as bearings, seals, gears, shafts, and valves.
- Spare parts management: Efficiently manage inventory of spare parts to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
- Performance metrics: Monitor key performance indicators related to equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and safety. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct periodic checks and routine inspections to ensure machinery is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and preparation teams to to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively working on the ground to drive real impact, ensuring close connection to the challenges and opportunities firsthand.
- Get overview of vendors for spare parts.
- Act as deputy for the head of the mechanical department, eventually growing to take on people leadership.
What We’re Looking for
- 10+ years mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, steel industry preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of welding techniques.
- Ability of reading mechanical drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Experience in handling revamping and installing new systems.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ambition to learn from the best.
- The position requires on-call availability for emergency breakdowns.
- Passion and dedication to your work.
- Proficiency in English, and Danish is a plus.
